The Story Behind Studio Afterglow | Handmade Breastmilk & Ashes Jewellery UK

Hello! I’m Georgina, the maker behind Studio Afterglow.

Studio Afterglow was created from something deeply personal.

When my lovely Grandma passed away, I knew I wanted a piece of ashes jewellery. Something I could wear every day to keep her close. But after searching, I struggled to find anything that truly felt like me. A lot of what I came across just didn’t match my style at all!!

So, I decided to try creating something myself. I watched A LOT of YouTube tutorials.

What started as a way to hold onto someone I love quickly became something much bigger and it worked well alongside having a baby.

As I began learning and experimenting, I realised how powerful keepsake jewellery really is. It’s not just something you wear, it’s something you feel. A connection, a memory, a moment in time that you can carry with you every day.

Over time, I started creating not only ashes jewellery, but also breastmilk jewellery — something that represents a completely different, but equally meaningful, kind of love.

A little about me

I’m a mum of two, and I run Studio Afterglow alongside family life — usually with a coffee (or 3) in hand and a never-ending to-do list in the background. It's definitely the hardest job I've ever done!

I’m inspired by real stories, real connections, and creating pieces that feel as beautiful as the memories they represent.

More than jewellery

For me, this has never just been about jewellery.

It’s about creating something that helps you feel close to the people and moments that matter most. Whether that’s your baby, your journey, or someone you carry in your heart.
